Janet Romanishin

Janet Romanishin, DMA, University of Southern California, has performed in the Tucson Symphony, Ballet and Pops Orchestras, Arizona Opera Orchestra, Missouri Symphony Society Performing Arts Center Chamber Orchestra, Tulsa Opera Orchestra, and Norman Flute Quartet. Her many solo recitals include guest artist appearances at the University of Arizona and the University of Redlands, CA., the Ada, OK Arts Council Artist Series, and at OMTA conferences. Dr. Romanishin has performed at national conventions for both Sigma Alpha Iota and the National Flute Association. She served for nine year as a Province Officer for Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity. On the founding board of the Oklahoma Flute Society, she has served in many capacities, including president and treasurer. Dr. Romanishin has taught flute at Duquesne University and the Northern Arizona University Summer Fine Arts Camp, and flute and piano at South Mountain Community College (Phoenix), as well as a class in making and playing PVC pipe flutes at the Chisholm Trail Arts Explosion camp in Duncan, OK. As a member of the Norman, OK Arts and Humanities Guest Artist Program, she presented educational performances about the flute family for schools. She teaches flute privately in Norman, serves as adjudicator, freelances, performs and records with the Arioso Consort, and is principal flutist of the Oklahoma Community Orchestra. She has served on the board of Oklahoma Music Teachers Association, and as president and treasurer of Norman Area Music Teachers Association. She is a Nationally Certified Teacher of flute.
